MTV Networks Head Judy McGrath Resigns

After what several media outlets describe as a high-stakes power struggle, MTV NETWORKS announced YESTERDAY that Chairwoman/Chief Executive JUDY MCGRATH had resigned, effective immediately, reports The NEW YORK TIMES. MCGRATH had been with the company for 26 years.
Although a press release attributed her resignation as her desire to seek a new career direction, several executives connected to the company told the TIMES that MCGRATH "had been put into a position to resign by PHILIPPE DAUMAN, President of VIACOM, after he made her an offer that would have changed her duties at the company."
Backing up their claim was VIACOM's announcement that MCGRATH’s position would be eliminated, with her responsibilities being assumed by DAUMAN.
