STEVEN TYLER dropped in on CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WXKS (KISS 108)/BOSTON's "MATTY In The Morning" show TODAY (5/13), and confirmed that AEROSMITH will perform on the season finale of AMERICAN IDOL.
PD DYLAN SPRAGUE tells ALL ACCESS, "STEVEN was in rare form! He was great … met everyone on our floor, spent time on both KISS and (sister Rhythmic WJMN) JAM’N ... even answered the KISS request lines! We didn’t ask him to … he insisted to talk to more hometown listeners! When he left the stations he stopped on the first floor and met patients in the dialysis center in our building. He wanted to talk to as many people as he could. He was just so happy to be back in BOSTON. Cool guy, cool visit."
KISS 108 morning host MATT SEGAL has a long history with TYLER, having introduced him on stage in 1977. When first asked, a slightly hesitant TYLER initially said that, if he got his way, AEROSMITH would play the 'IDOL' finale. When asked again later in the interview, TYLER responded “Yes, yes, yes. I’m dragging them in. As of YESTERDAY, they didn’t know. I said ‘you guys, AEROSMITH is playing. JOEY, yes you are playing. TOM, come on down. BRAD ...’ How can we not? It’s a walk-on, walk-off ... I would like to do ‘Back in the Saddle,’ ‘Sweet Emotion,’ who knows?”
TYLER was back in BOSTON for an early morning interview after filming THURSDAY night’s 'AMERICAN IDOL' elimination episode. He made the trip home to promote his new book, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" and his new song, “It Feels So Good.” He will also be celebrating his father’s 95th birthday over the weekend.
