LOUISVILLE PUBLIC MEDIA Triple A WFPK/LOUISVILLE is tweaking its weekend programming beginning SATURDAY, JUNE 4th. The goal is to showcase Triple A, Jazz and roots programming in a cohesive way, providing audiences with significant blocks of uninterrupted listening in each genre.
WFPK will introduce two new shows along with schedule adjustments in the weekend lineup. Included in the new schedule on SATURDAYS from 7-9p is "Little Steven’s Underground Garage" hosted by STEVEN VAN ZANDT.
"LITTLE STEVEN’s is a show I’ve wanted to bring to our community for the longest time," said PD STACY OWEN. "It’s the perfect showpiece for our signature Triple A weekend programming and the right music to bridge afternoon and evening listening."
Changes to the SATURDAY schedule also include moving "Relics" with DUKE MEYER 9a to noon. This allows for the creation of a consistent block of Adult Alternative music from noon until 7p.
On SUNDAYS from 1-3p MATT ANTHONY will host "Jazz Pulse," exploring the jazz spectrum from New Orleans classics to bebop and long-lost rarities.
"American Routes" with NICK SPITZER moves to SUNDAYS from 3 to 5p, replacing "Jazz at Lincoln Center" and providing a transition from a day of jazz (6a to 3p) to an afternoon and evening of Americana, roots and bluegrass music.
