The TENNESSEAN is reporting that CURB RECORDS has initiated a lawsuit against its flagship Country act, TIM McGRAW.
The suit, filed in DAVIDSON COUNTY CHANCERY COURT, claims that McGRAW has failed with his latest album to live up to his longtime contract with CURB — a contract that the artist has publicly complained about for years until this past OCTOBER, when McGRAW completed the still-unreleased “Emotional Traffic” album.
McGRAW has called the recording his “absolute last album with CURB if it kills him.”
The lawsuit from CURB however implies that McGRAW be required to stay under contract for two additional albums on CURB.
A McGRAW spokesman said the label is trying to force him “to serve perpetually under a contract that he has already fully and faithfully completed.”
