Alpha Launches 'Generation Next AC' In Portland

At 5p TODAY, ALPHA BROADCASTING sports KXTG and KXL-A/PORTLAND ended its simulcast, moving the Sports format to the AM and launching Hot AC KBFF (LIVE 95.5), playing 10,000 songs commercial-free. The station, described as "Generation Next AC," will focus on artists such as PINK, KATY PERRY, BRUNO MARS, ADELE, JOHN MAYER and LADY GAGA, among others and target a females 27-38.
Programming the station will be KEOLA LUI-KWAN, who has been APD/MD/afternoons on Country sister KUPL. "I have complete confidence that KEOLA is the man for the job," ALPHA BROADCASTING Dir./Music Programming SCOTT MAHALICK said. "This was an easy decision, especially when we have this caliber of talent right here in the building. KEOLA has a great feel for the music has already put his imprint on the sound and style of the New LIVE 95-5. I’m excited to watch him excel as PD of our new station."
