With the sale of noncommercial Jazz-News-Talk WDUQ/PITTSBURGH by DUQUESNE UNIVERSITY to ESSENTIAL PUBLIC MEDIA, a partnership that includes crosstown noncommercial Triple A WYEP, WDUQ will move all but six hours of its present Jazz music programming to its HD2 channel and online.
The main analog and HD1 signal of WDUQ will become News-Talk, with Jazz relegated to a six-hour SATURDAY evening block beginning JULY 1st under a pending LMA. The station plans to offer vouchers to Jazz fans to help them buy HD radios.
In addition, EPM announced that partner PUBLIC RADIO CAPITAL Director of Consulting DENNIS HAMILTON will serve as interim President and General Manager while it searches for a permanent GM.
