TOM ROESER, who recently retired from his CITADEL Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO weekend show after 17 years (NET NEWS 5/23), died SUNDAY (5/29) in CHICAGO from an undisclosed illness at 82, according to TIME OUT CHICAGO's ROBERT FEDER. His last show at WLS was on MAY 15th.
ROESER, a former QUAKER CO. executive and longtime conservative pundit in the CHICAGO media, was a frequent guest on BRUCE DUMONT's "INSIDE POLITICS" and "BEYOND THE BELTWAY" shows and wrote for the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES and CHICAGO TRIBUNE. He was publisher and editor-in-chief of the online CHICAGO OBSERVER and hosted a SUNDAY night show at WLS.
"TOM ROESER was a valued member of the WLS on-air lineup for 17 years," said WLS Operations Director DREW HAYES. "He was heard primarily in his regular SUNDAY night slot where listeners could participate in his radio 'plebiscites,' weighing in on the political issues of the week past, and looking forward to the week ahead. He was devoted to his principles and stalwart in his advocacy, respected by friend and foe alike. WLS sends condolences to his wife LILLIAN, and to their children. He will be missed."
REALCLEARPOLITICS.COM co-founder TOM BEVAN hosted the show this weekend.
