CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI weekend host ERIC DETERS has exited the station after a controversy over a video blog post he put on FACEBOOK, reports the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER.
DETERS, an attorney and fill-in for BILL CUNNINGHAM who was cut back from weeknights to weekends in JANUARY, was let go after the video, which had him saying that "if you want to conquer an African nation, send white women and pot," was posted. The post drew an ENQUIRER story and, DETERS wrote in a statement about his dismissal, "We can all assume it was the video blog where I made a joke" that led to his firing. He added, "The local NAACP even accepted my apology. The ENQUIRER headline used the word 'firestorm.' I don’t know where the firestorm is? I’m unaware of any groups or organizations making a big deal about it."
