The "interim" tag has come off for MARIA PALLANTE, who has been given the official nod as Register of Copyrights after five months as Acting Register of Copyrights at the U.S. Copyright Office. The announcement of PALLANTE's appointment was made WEDNESDAY by Librarian of Congress JAMES BILLINGTON.
PALLANTE replaced the retiring MARYBETH PETERS on JANUARY 1st. She had previously served as Associate Register at the Office of Policy and International Affairs and Deputy General Counsel at the Copyright Office, and also worked at the GUGGENHEIM MUSEUMS and with the AUTHORS GUILD and NATIONAL WRITERS UNION.
