The INDIANAPOLIS 500 celebrated the 100th Anniversary this year and RADIO ONE Top 40 WNOU (RADIO NOW 100.9) made its presence felt everywhere during the celebration.
Hoarse and sunburned, PD RAYNE told ALL ACCESS, "In the AFI MEDIA PIT STOP CHALLENGE on WEDNESDAY, we took home 2nd place, being edged out by (EMMIS N/T) WIBC. It was me, KYLE & RACHEL, MIKEY V and PHAT ZACH. None of us had never participated in the event before.
Later that night, we all hit THE VOGUE nightclub, where there was a party for INDIANAPOLIS COLTS punter PAT MCAFEE, who famously jumped into the BROAD RIPPLE CANAL last summer and got fined by the COLTS. Team mates JACOB LACEY and PIERRE GARCON were there too." (Ed. note: No canal diving was reported)
FRIDAY, they hit second gear, as RAYNE continued, "It was CARB DAY at the SPEEDWAY and we had our Mixshow Coordinator DJ ORION opening on stage for PAPA ROACH and STAIND in front of 40,000 strong. On SATURDAY, the entire staff held court at the COLUMBIA CLUB where we hosted the EFFEN VODKA FANTASY 500 CELEBRITY RACE PARTY. Our guest hosts were E’s (and INDIANAPOLIS native) CATT SADLER and singer CHRISTINA MILIAN. DJ ORION and fellow RADIO NOW mixer INDIANA JONES killed it!" Check out the pics here.
On race day, RAYNE and the RADIO NOW 100.9 crew kicked it up a notch -- literally, as he explained, "We took over TURN 3 for THE SNAKE PIT with DJs, dance contests and a PUNTING CONTEST featuring COLTS punter PAT MCAFEE (pictures here). It ended up getting shut down just prior to the end of the race due to the volume of people in attendance. We had a blast celebrating the INDY 100th and I couldn't have done it without our incredible RADIO NOW 100.9 team."
