Blair Garner's After Midnite Team Defeats Grand Ole Opry In City Of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge

The 21st Annual CITY OF HOPE CELEBRITY SOFTBALL CHALLENGE was held on SATURDAY, JUNE 11th, at GREER STADIUM, in NASHVILLE, as part of the CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL. As in years past, the rival teams of GRAND OLE OPRY and AFTER MIDNIGHT WITH BLAIR GARNER, went head-to-head, with all proceeds going to CITY OF HOPE, a leading research, treatment, and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
The AFTER MIDNIGHT WITH BLAIR GARNER team defeated the GRAND OLE OPRY squad by a score of 9-5. This year, the softball challenge raised over $100,000 for the CITY OF HOPE, and in its 21-year history, more than $2 million has been raised for the organization. Despite the heat, over 5,000 attendees came out for the game.
Stars who came to play include, AMERICAN IDOL’s SCOTTY McCREERY and LAUREN ALAINA, along with VINCE GILL, DAVID NAIL, DIERKS BENTLEY, JAKE OWEN, CHUCK WICKS, BRETT ELDREDGE, CNN’s ROBIN MEADE, JAMES WESLEY, POINT OF GRACE, LoCASH COWBOYS, JARON and the LONG ROAD to LOVE, and many others. STORME WARREN and SUZANNE ALEXANDER of GAC-TV emceed the event.
