Southern Gospel's J. Harold Lane Dies

J. HAROLD LANE, age 82, passed away on JUNE 6th in NASHVILLE. LANE co-founded the GOSPEL HARMONY BOYS and was the tenor for the SPEER FAMILY QUARTET for 22 years.
A member of the SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC HALL OF FAME, LANE wrote more than 50 Gospel songs including "I'm Standing on the Solid Rock" and "Touring That City." He arranged songs for the FLORIDA BOYS, the RAMBOS, JAKE HESS, the LeFEVRES and BILL GAITHER with his most recognized arrangement being one for "The King Is Coming."
LANE was preceded in death by his wife BETTY and is survived by his three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was held YESTERDAY (6/13) in NASHVILLE. LANE was laid to rest in MOUNT OLIVET CEMETERY.
