NEW YORK's State Senate and Assembly have passed a bill proposed by Assemblyman GEORGE LATIMER (D-WESTCHESTER) to outlaw pirate radio stations in the state. The bill would make operating a radio transmission on FCC-assigned AM and FM frequencies a Class A misdemeanor.
The bill, under other designations, has passed the Senate twice in previous years but did not pass the Assembly. The present version, A00326B, passed both houses on MONDAY (6/20).
