Triple A Conventions Update

Details for the 3rd annual FMQB TRIPLE A CONFERENCE, held at the ST. JULIEN HOTEL AND SPA in BOULDER, CO, AUGUST 10th-13th are now complete. For the 19th year, the Triple A community at-large will gather to discuss the issues facing the format and to watch both established artists and newcomers in a variety of settings.
COLLECTIVE SOUNDS new label head TOM "GROVER" BIERY will be the keynote interview to kick things off on WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON (8/10,) and the AWARDS BRUNCH will close the gathering on SATURDAY MORNING (8/13).
Other panels include "Triple A Anarchists," moderated by MIKE HENRY of PARAGON MEDIA STRATEGIES; "New & Social Media: Community Or Database?," moderated PRESSLAFF INTERACTIVE REVENUE’s RUTH PRESSLAFF; "Staying Progressive: The Future Of Triple A," moderated by WXRT/CHICAGO’s NORM WINER; and the annual MUSIC MEETING, which will again be hosted by KKXT/DALLAS’ MARK ABUZZAHAB.
The performance lineup is now complete and includes BODEANS, JOHN BUTLER TRIO, JEFF BRIDGES, LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM, BRANDI CARLILE, FITZ & THE TANTRUMS, LISSIE, EDWIN MCCAIN, MATT NATHANSON, NEEDTOBREATHE, SCARS ON 45 and TRIXIE WHITELY, among others
TENNESSEE Governor BILL HASLAM and NASHVILLE Mayor KARL DEAN have announced that the 73rd NATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL will take place at the BICENTENNIAL CAPITOL MALL STATE PARK in downtown NASHVILLE over LABOR DAY WEEKEND. The 74th and 75th event will also be at the same location and the same weekend.
The 2011 AMERICANA MUSIC FESTIVAL is set for OCTOBER 12th-15th in NASHVILLE
Details of the panels and performances are a ways off yet, but the AMERICANA MUSIC AWARD NOMINEES have been announced.
