RICE UNIVERSITY football and men's basketball will be heard on GOW COMMUNICATIONS Sports KGOW-A (1560 THE GAME)/HOUSTON under a new four-year deal. The station will also air a weekly one-hour RICE Athletics show 7-8p (CT) MONDAYS, starting with the beginning of the coming football season. Some football games will be shifted to crosstown KCOH INC. Urban-Talk KCOH-A because of scheduling conflicts.
"We are thrilled to have 1560 THE GAME as our broadcasting home for the next four years," RICE UNIVERSITY Director of Athletics RICK GREENSPAN said. "They are committed to local programming, and we're excited to become the centerpiece of their live local sports lineup. They have established themselves as an aggressive force in this market, and we look forward to leveraging their promotional energy both over-the-air and at our venues to spread the word about the great work of our dedicated student-athletes here at RICE."
"RICE UNIVERSITY has been the pride of HOUSTON for over a century, and 1560 THE GAME embodies their `Can Do' spirit and commitment to excellence," said KGOW VP/GM NEAL TALMADGE. "We're honored to be associated with the OWLS."
