After being in 'stunt mode,' DOUBLE O RADIO Classic Hits WWNQ (94.3 THE RIVER)/COLUMBIA, SC has emerged with a Classic Country format, as "COUNTRY LEGENDS 94.3.” The station has been stunting as Top 40 "Q94" recently but emerged as Country at noon today (7/1), kicking things off with “I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" and "GOD Bless The USA.”
OM/PD MARY HALL said, "The stunting is over. We are Classic Country for COLUMBIA." About stunting he added, "Look, sometimes we have to step back, take a breath and realize that we are in a great, fun industry. Yeah, we had some fun and did some good, old-fashioned stunting. We got what we wanted; a tremendous buzz for our station and had a good time watching everyone try to guess our next move. Now we move forward.
"COUNTRY LEGENDS 94.3 is what this station was when the signal was launched in '94. Ever since it was changed 3 years ago by previous management, people have been asking us to bring it back. Business 101 says 'Give the customer what they want' and that's what we are doing,” said HALL.
WWNQ is launching with a limited-commercial “All-AMERICAN Weekend.”
