LPFM Complains About Interference From New AM 1300 The Zone/Austin FM Translator

PRINCIPAL BROADCASTING FOUNDATION low power FM KDRP-LP/DRIPPING SPRINGS, TX is complaining to the FCC about interference from EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION's FM translator K276EL/SAN MARCOS, which has moved to a new location in AUSTIN and on SATURDAY (7/23) began relaying the signal of CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KVET-A (AM 1300 THE ZONE)/AUSTIN, replacing EMF's AIR-1 format.
In a message on its websote, KDRP says, "Our FCC Broadcast engineer and consultant informed us that the application is unnecessary, will no doubt cause interference and should have never been filed on such a crowded dial position. We also received information (and forwarded said information to all parties) that other dial positions are readily available for this application. KDRP management has reached out to CLEAR CHANNEL Management in writing, and as of June 27th, 2011, we have received absolutely no response. 'K-LOVE' (EMF) did respond to our inquiry and said they would not consider dropping or altering the application. After exhausting all efforts to communicate a solution, KDRP had no choice but to file an informal objection with the FCC and copied both CLEAR CHANNEL and EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION (K-LOVE) in the process."
