Chris Young Takes Number One Spot On Mediabase Country Singles Chart
July 25, 2011 at 7:07 AM (PT)
Congrats to RCA/NASHVILLE VP/Promo KEITH GALE and National Promo Dir. NORBERT NIX and their promotion staff. Their artist CHRIS YOUNG has the number one Country song in the nation this week, as “Tomorrow” sits at #1 this morning (7/25), on the MEDIABASE “Country Singles Chart.” “Tomorrow” is YOUNG’s fourth consecutive number one hit.
“I am completely blown away,” said CHRIS. “For (album) ‘Neon’ to get such an amazing response from the fans and then for ‘Tomorrow’ to go to #1 right after, it feels like I’m living a dream!”
A sigh of relief may also be in order for CITADEL Country KIIM/TUCSON PD/afternoon personality BUZZ JACKSON, who has pledged from the beginning of the single to “eat a shoe” if “Tomorrow” did not go to number one. JACKSON never revealed what shoe he planned to eat, but a listener had baked him an apple pie in the shape of a shoe, just in case. Listen to BUZZ try to convince AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN host KIX BROOKS to go ahead and slide “Tomorrow” into the number one spot here.
