D&E BROADCASTING is selling Conjunto KEDA-A (RADIO JALAPENO)/SAN ANTONIO to GERALD BENAVIDES' CLARO COMMUNICATIONS for an undisclosed price, reports the SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS. The deal, not yet filed with the FCC, includes an LMA to begin MONDAY (8/1); D&E is also selling the station's landmark building to supermarket chain H-E-B for use as part of its corporate headquarters. BENAVIDES told the paper that the station will go dark or automated while it looks for a new location but that the format will continue, with the addition of "a little more Tejano," with an FM simulcast.
In FCC filings, DAN OWEN is transferring FM translator K296DW/LONE PINE, CA to DAVID ERIKSEN for consideration of the cost of the filing fee.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has requested Silent STAs for W219DH/HAWKINSVILLE, GA and W232BI/ALBANY, GA, saying that "it is not financially feasible to find a new location at this time."
And COMMON FREQUENCY, INC. has requested an extension of its silent STA for KXCF/MARSHALL, CA, citing problems at its transmitter site.
