Automotive advertising, which has been at the forefront of the recovery in ad spending, has slowed sharply during the second quarter, reports KANTAR MEDIA. The catagory, always an important one to radio, "experienced a 20% jump in spending for 2010 and a 23% increase during Q1 2011, growth rates are now pacing at one-fourth to one-half these prior levels according to preliminary data from APRIL-MAY," wrote KANTAR.
Total Ad Spending slowed from 23% in 2011's Q1, to 6.7% in APRIL, noted KANTAR.
While radio slowed, there was still an uptick, from 22.2% growth in this year's first quarter to 9.6% growth in APRIL.
