Music Has Company As Apple Takes TV To The Cloud

At the beginning of JUNE (NET NEWS 6/6) APPLE announced it was taking music to the cloud, now APPLE -- the world's largest music seller -- has moved more media to the cloud with a TV deal, reports THE NEW YORK POST.
"iTUNES in the Cloud now lets users download previously purchased TV shows to their iOS devices, APPLE TV, MAC or PC at no additional cost, just like music, apps and books," APPLE said in a statement.
In comparison to the music business, "a number of insiders said APPLE had an easier time dealing with the TV industry because piracy concerns are not an issue with the TV studios; the only shows stored in the cloud are ones that were bought through APPLE," noted THE POST.
"All of the major TV providers signed agreements with APPLE to permit this new offering," an industry source told THE POST YESTERDAY.
