The Bert Show Raises More Than $220K For A Special Needs Family
August 9, 2011 at 8:50 AM (PT)
This week, THE BERT SHOW had some very special guests in studio -- the STARK family. Almost three weeks ago, WILL STARK's wife of 34 years, CHERYL, passed away unexpectedly after a sudden stroke, leaving WILL to raise their six special needs children alone. THE BERT SHOW jumped into motion, asking listeners to donate and help support this very special family. In one short week, listeners, local corporations and radio friends helped BERT, JEFF, JENN, KRISTIN and WENDY welcome the family and present them with a check for $220K.
"The donations keep on coming," said BERT WEISS. "Our listeners have been incredible. Seeing their reaction and knowing we are helping a family that not only needs it but deserves it has really brought our community together."
In 2009, BERT WEISS came to know the STARK family when they were chosen to participate in BERT's Big Adventure, a spectacular five day journey to WALT DISNEY WORLD for children with chronic and/or terminal illness and their families. Ever since, they have been part of the BBA family.
Monetary donations continue to pour in at www.thebertshow.com for this very deserving family.
