The UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT SAN ANTONIO, through athletics rights holder NELLIGAN SPORTS MARKETING, has inked a multi-year deal with CLEAR CHANNEL to air ROADRUNNERS football on Talk KRPT (92.5 THE PATRIOT)/SAN ANTONIO. Sister Sports KTKR-A (TICKET 760) morning co-host ANDY EVERETT and ED SUAREZ will call the action, and EVERETT will also host a weekly show with Coach LARRY COKER every WEDNESDAY evening on TICKET 760.
"We are extremely excited to announced this partnership with CLEAR CHANNEL," UTSA Athletics Director LYNN HICKEY said. "CLEAR CHANNEL has been an outstanding partner of ours with our men's basketball broadcasts the past several years, so this is a wonderful opportunity to expand into football. Our university continues to grow and the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding our first season is at an all-time high. This agreement with CLEAR CHANNEL will only help grow our visibility within the SAN ANTONIO community and beyond."
"Their reputation and significance in the SAN ANTONIO region makes them an ideal partner as we enter the next chapter of ROADRUNNER Athletics." said NELLIGAN SPORTS MARKETING VP of WEST COAST Properties MARK DEVINE.
"We are proud to bring the pride of ROADRUNNER sports, UTSA men's basketball, along with the debut of ROADRUNNER football coverage into the KRPT programming portfolio, as well as the weekly coach's show on KTKR-TICKET 760," said CLEAR CHANNEL AUSTIN-SAN ANTONIO President/Market Manager PAM MCKAY. "It's truly an exciting time for our partnership. As a UTSA sports flagship station, our collaboration represents a unique opportunity to grow the ROADRUNNER fan base as the athletics program continues its expansion, while also engaging sponsors and advertisers alike. We're maximizing the sports fever pitch in the SAN ANTONIO area like never before."
