Long-time "Blues and Rhythm Show" host HOWARD KOZY a.k.a. "BUMBLEEBEE SLIM," will be retiring from PITTSBURGH COMMUNITY BROADCASTING Triple A WYEP/PITTSBURGH as of SATURDAY, AUGUST 27th.
KOZY started his radio career helping local radio legend PORKY CHEDWICK acquire blues LPs at WAMO, then joined WYEP on-air. In addition to live broadcasts each year from LAWRENCEVILLE’s ART ALL NIGHT and the PITTSBURGH BLUES FESTIVAL, he has had the distinction of interviewing many local and national artists in the blues field.
WYEP Dir./Content and Programming KYLE SMITH said, "BUMBLEBEE has done a top-notch job over the years in growing the blues community in the PITTSBURGH area with his personality and passion for the blues, and his tireless pursuit of bringing quality music and interviews to the airwaves of 91 WYEP. We thank him for his dedication to the blues and the station, and wish him and his family well."
