KMBZ-A-F To Be Kansas City Affiliate For Mizzou Football, Men's Basketball

EMTERCOM Talk KMBZ-A-F/KANSAS CITY will be the KANSAS CITY affiliate for UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI football and men's basketball this FALL under a new deal with LEARFIELD SPORTS' MIZZOU SPORTS PROPERTIES. KMBZ-A and sister Classical KXTR-A (now KUDL-A) split the MIZZOU broadcasts last season.
"We're happy that we can continue our partnership with the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI and are excited to not only have 980 AM KMBZ as a TIGER NETWORK affiliate, but for the first time, MIZZOU will be heard on the FM dial in KANSAS CITY at 98.1 KMBZ," said ENTERCOM VP/Market Manager DAVE ALPERT. "The UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI is a premium program in college athletics and we have a large MIZZOU fan base in KANSAS CITY. It makes good business sense for us to be a broadcast partner with the TIGERS."

"We are looking forward to bringing UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI Football and Basketball contests to an even larger audience than in the past by adding a 100,000-watt radio station in 98.1 FM KMBZ."
KMBZ Named KAB Large Market Radio Station Of The Year
The news follows KMBZ's awarding of the KANSAS ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS' Large Market Radio Station of the Year Award. KMBZ also won Complete News Feature/Enterprise Coverage, Spot News, and Special Program awards from the KAB. KANSAS PUBLIC RADIO's KANU/LAWRENCE, KS won Medium Market Radio Station Of The Year honors, and DIERKING COMMUNICATIONS Country KDNS/GLEN ELDER, KS won the honors for Small Market Radio.
