REGENT COMMUNICATIONS is buying and selling in PEORIA with the purchase of two class B FMs from AAA ENTERTAINMENT and the sale of three class A FMs to INDEPENDENCE MEDIA. In the deals, REGENT will get Top 40-Rhythmic WZPW (POWER 92) and Hot AC WXMP (MIX 105.7) from AAA for $12.5 million and is sending Rock WIXO (99X), Religion WVEL-F, and Contemporary Christian WPIA (HOPE 98.5) to INDEPENDENCE for $2.8 million. The deals are expected to close in late third or early fourth quarter 2006. REGENT will add the two AAA stations to its other PEORIA holdings, Classic Rock WGLO and Religion WVEL-A; AAA retains Rock WWCT (ROCK 96.5). JOHN PIERCE AND CO. served as exclusive broker for the INDEPENDENCE deal.
