CLEAR CHANNEL Urban WGCI/CHICAGO has teamed with PEPSICO to present a scholastic book fair and rally today. WGCI’s wake up dude, TONY SCULFIELD, kicked off the event at the school assembly at LIBBY SCHOOL in CHICAGO where he read to students and gave an award to one student who created a reading themed rap.
Earlier this month a 6-year old student was shot and killed as she slept inside her family’s home. The students from this school have been exposed to both poverty and violence. PEPSICO and WGCI want to help bring some positivity to this school. They will be providing a five dollar reading certificate to each student and teacher to purchase a book at the book fair.
