BROADCAST ELECTRONICS (BE) has acquired the assets of LOCALMEDIA, an application development company specializing in social media and audience interactivity tools for radio broadcasters.
Since April, 2011, these products have been marketed by BE under a partnership arrangement and offered under the brand names of CROWDCONTROL, DJ WALL and SMS CAMPAIGN MANAGER.
BE will utilize its existing sales, marketing, product development, customer service and management staff to support the new company, BE DIGITAL MEDIA SOLUTIONS. Joining the newly created company from LOCALMEDIA are ANTHONY WEBB as VP/Engineering; DAVID HOFF as VP/User Experience; and RYAN BURGOYNE as Business Development Manager.
"With the acquisition of LOCALMEDIA and partnering with ANTHONY, DAVE and RYAN, BE is delighted to continue our leading effort in the development of innovative, interactive solutions for our global radio customers," BE Pres./CEO JOSEPH W. ROARK said. "The world continues moving to social media interactivity, young and old alike, and as an industry we must engage them in the way THEY wish to communicate. The tools and solutions offered by this new enterprise will provide our radio station customers with the tools being requested by both the listener and local advertisers without the large development and maintenance expenses of trying to do it on their own.
