As ALL ACCESS reported yesterday (5/18), SONY BMG continued restructuring that began back on APRIL 19th when it was announced that RLG and SONY would fold under the SONY BMG umbrella, under Chairman JOE GALANTE. In a letter to the employees from JOE GALANTE, word came that 20 employees would be exiting the company, including EPIC VP/Promotions TOM MORAN, COLUMBIA West Coast Promo Dir., JON CONLON, COLUMBIA Midwest Promo Dir., RYAN BARNSTEAD, and EPIC Northeast Promo Dir., ELIZABETH SLEDGE. Also leaving will be VP/Creative Services, DEB HAUS, SHAWN WILLIAMS from New Media, and MARK BROWN and LeANN PHALEN from A&R.
The heads of each of the label promotion departments that report to EVP BUTCH WAUGH, are: ARISTA/NASHVILLE VP/Promotion SKIP BISHOP, BNA RECORDS VP/Promotion TOM BALDRICA, COLUMBIA RECORDS VP/Promotion LARRY PAREIGIS, and RCA RECORDS VP/Promotion MIKE WILSON.
Also reporting to WAUGH, who oversees Promotion, Marketing, Media, New Media and Creative departments, are: SVP/A&R RENEE BELL who is responsible for A&R for ARISTA/NASHVILLE, BNA RECORDS and RCA RECORDS/NASHVILLE; COLUMBIA/NASHVILLE EVP/A&R MARK WRIGHT, SVP/Legal & Business Affairs KATHY WOODS, SVP/Finance & Operations PAUL BARNABEE.
