Looking Out For #1

My GM is the sensitive sort -- especially when it comes to money. So when he found out that one of our jocks would need surgery to remove a potentially cancerous tumor on his spinal cord, he immediately sprang into action.

He rifled through a filing cabinet for the jock's personal services contract.

"There's nothing in writing that we have to pay him if he winds up disabled," my GM informed me. "I mean, what if he winds up in a wheelchair? We can't afford to put in wheelchair ramps in this building."

Might cut into his bonuses.

I notice that some bad calls have made it to air on the News/Talk station in our cluster. Mostly, the problem involves elderly callers who can't get to the point, or are sidetracking the hosts.

I ask the APD of the station to draft a policy.

From now on, all callers named after a month (June), a flower (Rose) or a gemstone (Ruby) are banned from the airwaves. Our little secret.
