Next iPhone Reportedly Due in September

Breaking its tradition of releasing a new iPhone in the summer, Apple is reportedly readying the iPhone 5 for a September release. Apple is typically tight lipped about it, but reports started surfacing from sources the same day as Apple announced new record quarterly profits. As for the upgrades to be found in the iPhone 5, here are some of the rumored possibilities:
- Faster processor - An upgraded processor will allow for better graphics on games. While not as critical as it was for the recent iPad update, Apple is expected to do the same now for the iPhone.
- A new home screen with no “home” button. A number of screen shots of a possible prototype surfaced in the last few weeks.
- A white version - Apple had planned on making the iPhone 4 available in white, but the case had a problem with discoloring.
- 4G support - The next generation of mobile service is starting to roll out. Many observers assume that by 2013 4G will become the new standard
