LEA MICHELE from "Glee" and Broadway actor THEO STOCKMAN have called it quits. Her rep confirmed the news to Us Weekly that they've gone their separate ways after dating long-distance for the last year. This comes as a bit of a surprise --the two just enjoyed a romantic Hawaiian vacation last July. (Lee)
Someone forgot to tell NE-YO (real name: SHAFFER CHIMERE SMITH) he's getting married! As we mentioned yesterday, (RBR 9.20.11,) a rep for the rapper's baby mama, MONYETTA SHAWS, announced that the two were engaged. Too bad a wedding ain't in the works --the supposed "groom's" people cleared up the matter to Us Weekly saying that's just not the case. The two do, however, have big things in store --they're expecting a second child next month. (Lee)
Disney Imagineers have a new project. The Disney company has teamed up with JAMES CAMERON’s Lightstorm Entertainment to build a new Avatar-themed land at the Animal Kingdom theme park outside Orlando.
According to ETOnline, the design of the project is underway with construction slated to begin in 2013. Cameron is consulting on the endeavor while also working to produce two more sequels to the popular movie. (Page)
Trash talk and satellite dish:
BUZZ ALDRIN's third wife thinks her estranged husband is having a mid-life crisis at the tender age of 81. LOIS DRIGGS CANNON told the NY Post's Page Six gossip column that the astronaut's new relationship with 51-year-old MICHELLE SUCILLON is flat-out "scandalous." Lois claims they met at one of his book signings back in '09, says Michelle "was sort of aggressive" and claims she's one of the predatory women of Los Angeles that goes after married men. Despite their split, Lois claims she's still hoping for a reconciliation. (Lee)
Vegetarian kids from Us Weekly magazine:
--ALICIA SILVERSTONE gives her son BEAR only a vegan diet
--BETHEANNY FRANKEL says it's up to daughter BRYN if she wants to eat meat when she's older
--MAYIM BIALIK creates "lots of cheeses out of nuts" for her two sons
--GWYNETH PALTROW's daughter spit chicken out when she was young and went totally vegetarian (Myers)
High School hijinks:
In Virginia, a 14-year-old student dressed up in a banana costume for what he thought would be a harmless prank, then snuck onto the football field during the Colonial Forge High School’s football game, and ran down the sidelines during the halftime show.
Officials weren’t amused, and had him handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a police car temporarily, then suspended him from school for 10 days.
BRIAN THOMPSON says it was a "harmless prank." For their part, the high school officials say it was “disobedience,” “disruptive” and presented (quote) “an immediate danger to the welfare, health, and safety of any person."
Brian’s mom says her son is being over-punished for his impulsive actions which stem from his autism.
Some students who supported him reportedly made up and wore “Free Banana Man” t-shirts to school, but were told to remove them.
