Equal time:
Forgive, forget, and post on Facebook.
LISA WEISS, the Las Vegas blackjack dealer who received lewd sex messages from ANTHONY WEINER and then gave an interview about it, posted an apology to the former congressman on his Facebook page.
It turns out the two are still Facebook friends. After Weiner posted a picture of his family on Facebook in September, Weiss commented, "So great to see you back! Your wife and son are beautiful! Please let me apologize again for any pain I caused your (sic) or the beautiful Huma... it was unintentional... I still think you are our liberal hero and we need you back in politics!!" (Maiman)If Secretary of State HILLARY CLINTON stands by her promise not to run for president in 2016, it appears that Democrats will be looking for other possible female White House candidates. Politico reports that Democratic insiders have already undertaken an informal search for a female candidate to try and take advantage of the steady pro-female gender gap that's helped their party over the past several election cycles.
NEERA TANDEN of the liberal Center for American Progress tells Politico, "It's critical that we have a woman on the ticket in some form or fashion. Given that the Republican Party has produced a woman VP candidate, I think it's important that we ensure that the Democratic Party continues to lead."
Editor's note: Fine. Just as long as she's not ugly. (Pacelli)Trolling for publicity:
Add GEORGE CLOONEY's name to the growing list of celebrities-turned-distillers. The NY Post's Page Six gossip column reports the grey fox is launching a new line of tequila with CINDY CRAWFORD's hubby, RANDE GERBER, and they've worked hard for years to "create the ultimate blend." Look for the duo in a town near you --they're scheduled to do appearances in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas and Miami before officially rolling out the booze later this month. (Lee)
Chic Sh*t:
UGG boots were the most-gifted item of the 2012 holiday season. The boots fashion people love to hate (but they're soooo comfortable!) beat out the iPad... and even Barbie! SheFinds.com says one reason for the boot's success: UGG's parent company, rolled back prices after sales in the shearling boots took a nose dive. Standard prices dropped a good $10 to $15 bucks. Reality Round-Up:
Another day, another reality show. This time A&E has picked up a series called "Rodeo Girls," which, as you might expect, is all about women on the pro rodeo tour, specifically the competitive barrel-racing circuit. Oh boy!
Taking everything much too seriously:
A bluefin tuna sold for a record $1.76 million at a Tokyo auction Saturday, nearly three times the previous high set last year --even as environmentalists warn that populations of the fish are being depleted worldwide amid strong demand for sushi.
The fish's tender pink and red meat is prized for sushi and sashimi. Japanese eat 80 percent of the bluefin tuna caught worldwide, and much of the global catch is shipped to Japan for consumption. (Maiman) -
