Ouch!
VANESSA CERVANTEZ certainly knows how to grow 'em. TheStir.com reports the tiny mom of three may have just given birth to the biggest baby in the history of California! ANDREW JACOB CERVANTEZ popped out weighing 15-pounds, two-ounces and measured two-feet in length when he was delivered via emergency C-section at just 38-weeks along. Unfortunately, the little guy suffered some breathing issues after coming into the world and spent some quality time in the intensive care unit.
Andrew's siblings weren't petite bundles of joy, either --his big brother weighed in at 10-pounds, 10-ounces at birth while his sister tipped the scale at nine-pounds, 14-ounces. (Lee)Filling a need:
Colorado marijuana legalization is remaking the state's economy in surprising ways.
One example: a real estate agent has advertised her services on Craigslist and in an alternative weekly as a marijuana-friendly realtor, helping people find the perfect property to grow marijuana for personal use, under the tag line "Need room to grow?" (Maiman)Fast Food:
People in Japan seem to enjoy more exotic flavors than your typical westerner. Case in point: Frito-Lay Japan is releasing a new Shrimp Mayonnaise flavor of Doritos tortilla chips. The company has had success with previous unlikely offerings like Pepsi-Flavored Cheetos and Bacon Doritos. In addition to the shrimp mayonnaise flavor, the new gourmet line of Doritos includes corn soup flavor, camembert cheese and sukiyaki flavor, and mushrooms with butter and soy sauce. (Still)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
BRADLEY COOPER is coming back to Broadway for the first time in eight years. Entertainment Weekly says he'll star in a revival of "The Elephant Man." The play is very different from the movie. In the 1980 film, JOHN HURT stars as the deformed John Merrick wearing a lot of makeup. On stage, the lead actor has to make you believe he is deformed without any makeup or prosthetics. Yes, that means Bradley will have his shirt off for most of the play. The rest of the cast will be announced soon, along with details on which theater and when performances will begin. (Marino)
Chic Sh*t:
Trend alert! If you can't bring yourself to ink up your skin, fashion is trending toward tattoo artwork on their clothes. Fashionista.com reports that the Paris Fashion Week shows featured Maison Martin Margiela sending a series of wild embroidered tattoo-art tops down the runway. Chanel regularly paints temporary tats on its models. MARC JACOBS' tattoo artist showed off laser-tattooed bags for his last Louis Vuitton show. (Bartha)
