Models:
Do you actually pay attention to those boring safety instructions before hitting the friendly skies? You may now as Air New Zealand hired a bunch of supermodels in bikinis to do the job! The UK's Daily Mail reports Sports Illustrated hotties like CHRISTIE BRINKLEY, CHRISSY TEIGEN, JESSICA GOMES, HANNAH DAVIS and ARIEL MEREDITH shot some sexy footage while explaining the emergency procedures and the company calls it the "world's most beautiful safety video." Watercooler:
Feminist writer LISA McINTIRE was shocked to receive a credit card offer from Bank of America sent to her address but addressed to "Lisa Is A Slut McIntire."
The letter read, "Lisa Is A Slut McIntire, you've earned this special offer." Even better, it arrived at the home of McIntire's mother. [Editor's note: "Mom, I can explain everything." --Maiman]
The bank apologized after McIntire tweeted a picture of the letter.
Editor's note: It could've been worse. They could have sent: "Lisa Looks Fat in Every Dress McIntire." (Maiman)Ratings:
There were 31.7 million viewers tuning into the 2014 Winter Olympic Games' Opening Ceremony on Friday night. That's a bit down from the Opening Ceremony from the last Winter Olympics in Vancouver, which had 36.2 million, but it could partially be because it was tape-delayed from Russia instead of live.
Grace notes:
So, how much were THE BEATLES paid to be on "The Ed Sullivan Show," 50 years ago? ELVIS PRESLEY got $50-thousand dollars for three performances on the show in late 1956/early 1957. For the same amount of shows in February, 1964, the Fab Four earned: $10-thousand dollars.
Why the big difference? Rolling Stone magazine writer MIKAL GILMORE says it was because The Beatles had never been on TV in America, and there was no guarantee their performances would be that great. So, Beatles manager BRIAN EPSTEIN took less money from CBS in exchange for top billing on "Sullivan" for three Sundays in a row. (Marino)Most popular dog breeds:
