Giving up stuff for Lent:
OpenBible.info analyzed Twitter for references to giving things up for Lent and concluded that the following ten are most-mentioned sacrifices in the Twitter-verse this holy season:
10. Lent (!!!)
9. Fast food
7. Social networking
FYI: #15 on the list is Sex, #19 is Facebook, #25 is Virginity, #84 is Hope. (Kaye)
On, off and way-off Broadway:
How about a Broadway show based on the movie, "Pretty Woman"?
Variety says producer GARRY MARSHALL is looking to reboot the 1990 JULIA ROBERTS movie as a musical, is working on the book and is looking for folks to write the music.
This is not the first time a musical have been mentioned, but since there's no music written yet, it's likely several years from an opening.
Today's police blotter:
A Kansas City woman discovered 11 spy cameras hidden in her apartment.
A friend visiting the unidentified lady's apartment noticed the smoke detectors looked a little weird. Police investigated and found they were actually cameras disguised to look like smoke detectors. The devices were scattered throughout the apartment, including one in her bedroom and four in her bathroom.
Cops traced the wires through the tattoo parlor beneath her apartment and down into the basement where they found several video monitors and recorders. Nobody has been arrested so far. Cops confiscated the equipment and are reviewing the evidence. (Still)
Study: key to a happy marriage:
Are you one of those naughty couples that live in sin? Congratulations --you could be preparing for a long and happy marriage. Although older studies show that twosomes who cohabitate before tying the knot are more likely to divorce, new research indicates that's not necessarily the case. Glamour magazine reports data from 1995, 2002 and 2006 found no link between living together and happily-ever-after, but maturity might have something to do with it.
Apparently lovebirds that move in together after the age of 23 are less likely to part ways, much like college graduates and folks that have been together over a year before signing a lease. (Lee)
