Political Racket /Dirty Tricks:
Remember those (allegedly) missing e-mails from IRA bigwig LOIS LERNER? Well, guess what? Some of those e-mails might not be lost after all.
Shocking, huh?
A top IRS official now says he's uncertain about whether backup tapes of Lerner's lost emails may exist. That's according to excerpts of some private testimony released by Republicans from IRS Deputy Associate Chief Counsel THOMAS KANE, who oversees the agency's document production to Congress.
Kane reportedly told the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that he's now unsure whether all the backup tapes with correspondence from the ex-IRS official were recycled. (Pacelli)Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
SCARLETT JOHANSSON probably won't be wearing a size-two on her wedding day. PerezHilton.com reports the A-lister and fiance ROMAIN DAURIAC hit up a dinner party held by MARTHA STEWART last weekend and told guests like BARBARA WALTERS, KATIE COURIC and RACHEL ZOE that they were planning to marry in just four weeks! The "Lucy" actress is very pregnant with their first child, announced the good news last March and could be headed to labor and delivery any day. (Lee)
At the local Cop Shop:
In Saginaw, MI, the inmates at the Saginaw County Jail will now have to wear jumpsuits with black-and-white stripes after the local sheriff, WILLIAM FEDERSPIEL, banned orange jumpsuits because they're now "cool."
Besides, the sheriff told the Saginaw News, "It's a concern because we do have our inmates out sometimes doing work in the public, and I don't want anyone to confuse them or have them walk away."
As for the inmates, he said, "They don't like it."
"A lot of them have said, 'We don't like wearing black-and-white stripes.' And my response is, 'Too bad. Don't come to jail.' If you come to dinner at my house and you don't like what I'm serving, don't come back. If you don't like the food, don't come back. If you don't like the clothes that I give you, don't come back. I didn't ask you to come wear this uniform."The Reel Deal:
