Married:
We told 'ya yesterday that NAYA RIVERA and RYAN DORSEY were spotted getting frisky in Cabo and it could be for a very good reason --they're on their honeymoon! Sources tell Us Weekly the "Glee" cutie and the up-and-coming actor tied the knot last Saturday during a secret ceremony south of the border. Word is they've been friends for four years and their relationship blossomed into love. The actress has enjoyed a wild year --she just ended her engagement to rapper BIG SEAN in April.
Editor's note: Apparently Naya was desperate to wed on July 19th --it was her original wedding date with Big Sean as well as Ryan's birthday. (Lee)The First Family at play:
The OBAMA family may be planning their departure from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. A few real estate agents tell the Los Angeles Times that the presidential couple is planning to buy an 8,232-square-foot home in Rancho Mirage, California. The place features a gym, casita, pool with waterfall, rock lagoon, two spas, a misting system and putting green with a sand trap for just 4.25-million-dollars.
While the White House claims the story isn't true, the National Enquirer reports the posh pad will be a "safe house" for life after BARACK and MICHELLE divorce. (Lee)Auto World /Gas Guzzlin' Update:
If you drive a convertible, chances are you're both more educated and more affluent than the typical American motorist, according to a new study from Experian Automotive. (At the RBR we also assume you are more sunburned, but that's another topic.)
The study finds fully 50 percent of all convertible buyers have at least a bachelor's degree, compared with just 38 percent of all new car buyers. Nearly one in five ragtop purchasers had incomes of at least $175-thousand a year (compared to about one in ten car purchasers) and 12 percent owned homes worth more than $1 million (compared to four percent). (Kaye)On, off and way-off Broadway:
"Shakespeare In Love," the hit 1998 movie, has been turned into a stage play. Playbill.com says Disney is behind the production, which opened last night at London's Noel Coward Theater. TOM STOPPARD's script is now a bit more Shakespearean, and there are no big stars like GWYNETH PALTROW who won the Best Actress Oscar for playing Viola de Lesseps. But, they did keep the dog. Since Disney is one of the producers, there's a very good chance this "Shakespeare In Love" could wind up on Broadway at some point. (Marino)
Fashion Emergency:
From the "How did this not happen before now?" department... BRITNEY SPEARS is coming out with her own lingerie line. Seriously, she started her career exposing her bra in the "Baby One More Time" video! How is this just happening now? The new line is called the Intimate Collection by Britney Spears. Fashionista.com says Brit's lingerie will be sold in over 180 stores world wide.
Fun fact: New York magazine's The Cut says Britney has appeared in her underwear on the cover of Rolling Stone a total of five times. (Bartha)NRA Update:
A restaurant owner in Maryville, Tennessee, wants her customers to feel comfortable bringing guns inside.
SHARMA FLOYD has posted a sign over the front door of Shiloh Brew and Chew reading: "Guns are Welcome". Floyd wants customers of her family-friendly eatery to know she supports their right to bear arms. She says she got the idea after hearing about a North Carolina business that was robbed at gunpoint after they posted a sign reading: "No Weapons Allowed."
Floyd has only had one complaint so far. She adds, "I've gotten way more support than the one person who really gave me a lot of grief over it." (Still) -
