Former Secretary of State MADELEINE ALBRIGHT didn't pull any punches when she was asked about all the world's present hot spots. She said, "To put it mildly: the world is a mess."
She added, "There are an awful lot of things going on that need understanding and explanation ...Can you recall a time when there was so much trouble in so many places around the world? ...We have so much going on right now, it's almost like we're caught up in events out of control."
And when asked about Secretary of State JOHN KERRY's current push for a cease fire in Gaza, she added, "I so admire Secretary Kerry for all the effort he's put into this... DEMI LOVATO and her new severe haircut will perform at the Teen Choice Awards. Billboard.com says she'll duet with CHER LLOYD on "Really Don't Care" from Demi's self-titled 2013 album. Demi is up for four awards including Choice Summer Song and Choice Break-Up Song. RITA ORA will do her latest single, "I Will Never Let You Down," and more performers will be announced soon. NASCAR:
On Sunday, JEFF GORDON won a record fifth Brickyard 400... widely recognized as the second most prestigious event on the tour (behind the Daytona 500). Gordon also won the race in 1994 when it first moved to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He is now tied with Formula One legend MICHAEL SCHUMACHER as the winning-est driver in the 105-year history of the track. It is the 90th career victory for Gordon, his second in 2014. (Lane)
