Sucking Up:
HILLARY CLINTON is making her first trip to Iowa since 2008. Hillary and former President BILL CLINTON will be featured guests at retiring Iowa Sen. TOM HARKIN's 37th and final Steak Fry on September 14th, an event that traditionally signals the start of Iowa's political season.
In addition to that trip, sources say Mrs. Clinton will also hold a series of high-profile fundraisers over the next two months. (Pacelli)Guilty Pleasures:
No winner in Friday night's drawing for the Mega Millions Lottery. That means tonight's drawing is valued at $160 million ($95 million cash value). Mega Millions is played in 43 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the big prize are 1 in 258.9 million.
The Internet:
Think that ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is total BS? Apparently, it isn't.
New data from the ALS Association says that there are over seventy thousand new donors to the association, and it's raised 2.3 million dollars. Last year, the amount raised in the same period barely totaled $25,000. So next time you share an article on "slacktivism," chew on that. (AB)Trash talk and satellite dish:
ZAC EFRON's nearest and dearest are sounding the warning bells about MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ. The newly clean and sober stud has been everywhere with the good-timin' actress this summer, but friends are worried he's headed down a very dangerous path. The twosome hit up the club scene on the Spanish island of Ibiza --a spot that's full of cocaine and Ecstasy-- and insiders tell Us Weekly the situation is a "recipe for disaster." (Lee)
KRIS JENNER really doesn't care about her daughters happiness. Star magazine reports that not only doesn't she like KHLOE's boyfriend FRENCH MONTANA, but she wants her daughter to dump him on camera to spike the ratings of their reality show. (Myers)
Fashion Emergency:
PHARRELL WILLIAMS' funky hat is getting its own museum exhibit. The Washingtonian's website says the giant Vivienne Westwood hat Pharrell wore on the Grammys red carpet back in January is going on display at the Newseum in Washington D-C. The hat became an internet sensation of the meme-generating kind for it's uncanny resemblance to the Arby's logo. Arby's actually bought the hat at a celebrity auction and is loaning it out to the Newseum. The hat will be displayed in the New York Times' Great Hall of News until October 26th. The museum says Pharrell's hat is a "symbol of how social media is instrumental in the spread and development of a story." (Bartha)
