The President at play:
PRESIDENT OBAMA addresses the nation at 9 p.m. tonight about how the U.S. intends on battling ISIS militants who've been gathering strength in Syria and Iraq. The president briefed leaders of Congress on the address and his options yesterday.
Politico reports that the White House is circulating a proposal for new authority to arm and equip Syrian rebels. The language the administration is considering would prop up Syrian rebels without committing the U.S. to sending ground troops into Syria.
Syria is considered by most experts to be the ISIS/ISIL home base of operations. (Pacelli)Sucks to be you:
The FBI is coming to the aid of KRIS JENNER. RadarOnline.com reports a dozen hard-core agents seized several electronic devices from a woman that could be stalking the KARDASHIAN matriarch. The suspect claims her room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles was searched last Friday morning, she was handcuffed, questioned and remains "flabbergasted" at the accusations --the unnamed woman claims she's been letting someone else use her laptop and computer over the last eight months and calls the situation downright "scary." Fashion Emergency:
Time for a little news ..."Jeopardy"-style:
--Answer: 2001
--The Question: What is the year ALEX TREBEK shaved off his iconic mustache?
--Answer: Next week
--The Question: When will America get the Trebek 'stache back?
Yup, it's true. When the long-running trivia show returns for its 31st season, the "Jeopardy" host is bringing back his famous mustache. He told People magazine that he first shaved off his mustache back in 2001 "on a whim." He said, "This year I has a two-and-a-half-month period where we were not taping a show, so I grew it back on another whim. I like to keep my life simple." The new season of Jeopardy premieres Monday, September 15th. (Bartha)Reality Round-Up:

If you opened up iTunes yesterday afternoon, you probably found a very big surprise: U2's new album, for free! Right after the band performed live at Apple's shindig in Cupertino, California, to announce the new iPhone and Apple Watch, more than half-a-BILLION iTunes users got a download of "Songs of Innocence," with 11 new tunes, including the song U2 did at the event, "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)," which is track 1 on the album.
The CD will be out on October 14th, along with a deluxe edition featuring acoustic versions of some of the new songs, plus four bonus tracks. A gatefold, double white-vinyl LP will come with an exclusive remix of "The Crystal Ballroom." (Marino) -
