Anniversaries:
Anniversary of air crash that killed two members (Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines) and backup singer (Cassie Gaines) of LYNYRD SKYNYRD near McComb, MS (1977).
Sucking the life out of the wire services:
Update: former "7th Heaven" star STEPHEN COLLINS may not be headed to the big house, after all. RadarOnline.com reports the "7th Heaven" star will probably not be prosecuted for exposing himself to children or molestation despite confessing to the crimes during therapy sessions. Although the New York Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the Los Angeles Police Department are all investigating, there's little chance of taking things to court since the statue of limitations has run out on the crimes. However, they probably will come up in his divorce trial, which is scheduled to begin next month. (Lee)
Update:
That clinic where JOAN RIVERS had her fatal operation may lose its license.
The New York Post reports that the New York state health department has completed its investigation of Yorkville Endoscopy and found a number of serious issues which could lead to the clinic losing its license.
According to a letter obtained by the Post, the clinic was informed last week that it was "noncompliant" in four areas and is now at risk of losing its federal accreditation.Stalking the catwalk:
The zombie apocalypse drama "The Walking Dead" is helping fans gear up for Halloween with a special zombie make-up tutorial on its website. The show's special effects make-up designer GREG NICOTERO shows you how to create your zombie look with simple kitchen supplies like gelatin, corn syrup and food coloring. (Great for blood splatter and creating do-it-yourself face wounds.) If you're feeling very ambitious, the tutorial also includes how to make rotting skin out of liquid latex. But the number one word of advice they offer: Use conditioner. It "zombifies" your hair. (Bartha)

Looks like TAYLOR SWIFT has something for you tonight at midnight Eastern. She Tweeted on Saturday: "Heads up! Something's happening on @itunesmusic at around 11:59 pm EST Monday night..Available worldwide:) #1989." And then last night, just before 7 pm (Eastern), Taylor Instagrammed lyrics to what she says is Track 11 on her new album. The words are: "When you're young, you just run, but you come back to what you need." So, maybe THIS is the official second single from "1989," which is due out on October 27th. A track listing for the album showed up on Twitter, but no word on if it's real. If it is, then Track 11 is called "This Love." (Marino)
Pet Patrol:
A dog in Indiana is allergic to humans.
Veterinarians at an animal rescue in Indianapolis say a black lab's skin problems are caused by being too close to people. ROBIN HERMAN from the Lucky Dog Retreat says the labrador named ADAM arrived at the shelter with skin issues. A blood test revealed the pooch has a rare allergy to human dander. Vets prescribed allergy medication for Adam and his condition is expected to improve. (Still) -
