Another day, another shot at NBC anchor BRIAN WILLIAMS' faulty memory.
This morning's Washington Post has the story of the manager of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in New Orleans, who pumped up security and got hotel employees to barricade the doors as Hurricane Katrina slammed the city in 2005.
Surviving in good shape, MYRA DeGERSDORFF was given the President's Award from the hotel company the following year.
However, she says she was surprised to see an old interview between Brian and TOM BROKAW earlier this week, claiming that gangs had "overrun" the place and saw a dead body floating past the hotel during his stay. Brian also once told a book author that he got dysentery during Katrina and "had no medicine, nothing" during his stay at the hotel --a far cry from the medicine and more than a dozen doctors she'd arranged to stay at the hotel during the hurricane.
"Maybe he misremembered," she told the Post. "I'm not going to judge him, because it was such an unpleasant week and there were times to be concerned. …And when there is that kind of concern you can misremember. And maybe he was out there, and it wasn't impossible he could have encountered a body, but I don't think it was in the French Quarter. The French Quarter only got inches of" flooding.NICK GORDON and BOBBI KRISTINA BROWN aren't exactly a match made in heaven. Sources tell TMZ.com her so-called "husband" has always been quite jealous of his lady's fame, and can't understand why people always focus on her since they grew up together. Rumors are swirling things often came to blows between the two.
Now, Atlanta TV station WSB reports Nick is reportedly being investigated by police, who want to know where the drugs found in the house came from and TMZ says they also want to know how Bobbi Kristina sustained a few injuries to the face and mouth before she was discovered face down in a bathtub last weekend. The 21-year-old daughter of BOBBY BROWN and the late WHITNEY HOUSTON is reportedly brain dead and the family is deciding whether or not to pull the plug. (Lee)Today's police blotter:
A Wisconsin man is charged with a felony after attempting to stop an armed robbery.
JEFF STEELE was a customer at King's Korner bar in La Crosse at closing time. Cops say that's when 24-year-old HEIDI THOMPSON walked in wearing a mask and pointed a gun at the bartender. As Thompson allegedly tried to escape with cash from the register, Steele confronted her with a Taser. Thompson ran from the bar and was arrested minutes later by La Crosse Police. But she isn't the only one facing charges. Steele is charged with felony possession of an electronic weapon, because he doesn't have a concealed carry permit for his Taser. It's now up to the district attorney to decide whether to pursue the charge. (Still)Overheard on Sunset Blvd:
"Fifty Shades of Grey" doesn't hit theaters until this Friday, but fans of the sexy books will be thrilled to hear there's already two more movies in the works! PerezHilton.com reports director SAM TAYLOR-JOHNSON broke the good news at a premiere in New York City and we can look forward to "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" on the big screen.
