Chic Sh*t:

Fashionista.com says 25 percent of each purchase will go to the singers' charitable foundations --Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. (Bartha)
On, off and way-off-Broadway:
PRINCE will be saluted by some of Broadway's best next month. Playbill.com says "Hedwig & The Angry Inch" Tony winner LENA HALL headlines "Dearly Beloved... A Concert Tribute to 'Purple Rain'" on May 16th at 42West in New York City. All proceeds will go to the charity Arts for All. (Marino)
Today's police blotter:
Yard work sucks but it's even worse when you hit a grenade! JOE PRIESTER of Richmond, Virginia, was chopping ivy with an ax near the bottom of a tree on his property. He said hit something really hard a couple of times. "I pull it out and I'm looking at it and I can't believe what I'm seeing... It looked like a grenade. I know I'm not supposed to touch a bomb, but I didn't know until I had it in my hand. And I saw the pin was on it so I said the best thing to do was to get it as far away as I can from anybody else and call it in. So I didn't think about it. I was in shock."
Police and the bomb squad showed up and defused the grenade. They said is was most likely live and had been there for a very long time. Thankfully, no one was hurt. (Myers)The Reel Deal:
Variety reports WILL FERRELL will be playing former President RONALD REAGAN in the upcoming movie, "Reagan." Will, who's already had some presidential experience playing GEORGE W. BUSH in various comedy sketches, will play Reagan at the start of the ex-president's second term. The movie has Reagan struggling with dementia and his advisors bring in an ambitious intern who must convince the commander in chief that he is an actor playing the president in a movie.
Taking everything much too seriously:
If you weren't in England Wednesday night, you missed out on the world's first armpit-smelling date night.
A London-based design firm called Bompas & Parr organized the event, which they called "Romancing the Armpit." The idea was to bring about "love, happiness and hormones" in the age of otherwise completely sterile online dating. It's unclear exactly what the party entailed. But, it was billed as "a small-scale revolt against a highly deodorized world." (Still) -
