Cosmetic surgery tragedy:
Tragedy in Miami, as a woman who had cosmetic surgery last week died after undergoing a "Brazilian Butt Lift."
The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner says the procedure involves liposuction from the stomach area or other portions of the torso, and the resulting fat intake is then injected into the buttocks.
Unfortunately, in 29-year-old HEATHER MEADOWS' case, the complications involved some of the fat particles entering her bloodstream through a vein, and the resulting fat clots in her lungs and heart killed her.
It's not the first time it's happened, either. The Miami Herald reports three years ago, in 2013, a 51-year-old woman died of the same cause --fat clots in her lung.
Another @$#%* Press Release:
Gentlemen, rejoice --the good folks at Pizza Hut have married two of your favorite flavors --pizza and beer! The UK's Daily Mirror reports the company is launching two new flavors that feature dough made with craft beer. Contestants can give the Steak Feast and American Hot pies a taste this Friday, but only if you can swing by the Finchley Lido Hut in London and know the secret code: "I Like it Hop."
Director of HR and Marketing KATH AUSTIN says craft beers are "really hot right now," think the additions are the "perfect culinary union" and they "can't wait for our customers to try them." (Lee)
On, off and way-off-Broadway:
If you have to die, it might as well be on stage. The Washington Post says 87-year-old JANE LITTLE played double bass for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra since 1945 when she was just 16. She was on stage Sunday night with the orchestra for a concert of Broadway show tunes, and with 30-seconds left in IRVING BERLIN's "There's No Business Like Show Business," Jane collapsed and passed away. What a way to go. (Marino)
Kids in Springfield, Massachusetts, have a strange idea of fun. ZAMIR SANDERS, who was 16, was playing a game of "dead" with his friends, where kids lay in the road to scare drivers. A car had stopped in the road when they saw the Zamir laying there but the car behind that one drove around, running over Zamir and dragging him about 300 feet before his friends were able to alert the driver.
When the female driver realized what happened she even tried to help Zamir but it was too late. She is cooperating with police and has not been cited. (Myers)
