Guilty Pleasures:
--No winner in last night's drawing for the Mega Millions Lottery. That means Friday night's drawing is valued at $415 million ($286 million cash value). It's the third largest prize in Mega Millions history. Mega Millions is played in 44 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the big prize are one in 258.9 million.
Fast Food:
Cereal manufacturer Kellogg's says they'll be opening an all-day cereal cafe in Times Square starting on the Fourth of July, charging up to $7.50 for a bowl of goodness.
The NY Daily Newsreports the restaurant is located at Broadway and 49th, off Times Square, will reportedly serve cereals dressed up with various fruits and come with a 12-ounce container of milk --or, for an extra $2, you can top off the bowl with yogurt or soft-serve ice cream.
You can also get things like a Froot Loop sundae --containing Froot Loops, lime zest, marshmallows and passion fruit jam-- and made with Blue Marble ice cream for $9.50.On, off and way-off-Broadway:
"Hamilton" was filmed in performance Sunday afternoon and last night. The entire original Broadway cast, including JONATHAN GOFF --who came back to play King George III for the cameras-- did last night's show, which may be the last time all of the original leads took the stage together. A documentary called "Hamilton's America" will premiere October 21st on PBS, but that's not the entire show. No word on when the full musical will be shown, or even how. (Marino)
Idiots or Insane:
In Las Vegas, a man reportedly married his smartphone.
AARON CHERVENEK drove from his home in Los Angeles to the Little Vegas Chapel where he said "I do" to his phone. Chervenek --an artist-- wore a tux, his phone was covered in a white protective case. He even slid a ring over the phone during the ceremony. The proud groom explains, "We connect with our phones on so many emotional levels... To me, that's also what a relationship is about." Chervenek promises he has no plans to trade his bride in for a new model next year. (Still) -
