Posturing, Posing, Polling and Press Releases:
Billionaire investor WARREN BUFFETT offered last night to meet DONALD TRUMP "any place, any time" so the two could publicly exchange their tax returns. At a rally in Omaha, NE, for HILLARY CLINTON, Buffett said, "I'd be delighted to meet him any place, any time between now and election... And let people ask us questions about the items on there."
He added, "How many of you afraid to make tax returns public? ...You're only afraid if you have something to be afraid about... He's not afraid because of... the IRS. He's afraid of you." (Pacelli)On, off and way-off-Broadway:
There's a new production of the musical "Miss Saigon," with a real helicopter! Playbill.com says it's outdoors in the hills of Georgia, and every night, an actual helicopter swoops in and lands. The Serenbe Playhouse took over a one-thousand acre residential and commercial area in Chattahoochee Hill Country which stands in for Vietnam. Real war veterans fly the chopper, too. "Miss Saigon" runs through August 14th. (Marino)
Road Warrior:
A car crashed straight into a West Virginia Walmart on Friday. Police were shocked at who was driving.
It turns out a dog was behind the wheel when the vehicle rolled from its parking space and slammed into the front of the building in the town of Wayne. Police say an elderly woman left the engine running so her two dogs could enjoy the air conditioning while she was inside the store. Luckily, nobody was injured and the damage was minimal. The song is NBC's theme for the 2016 Rio Olympics which get underway this month. Word is, Katy will perform "Rise" at the opening ceremonies Friday. The single drops on Thursday. (Marino)
