I purchased Girl Scout Cookies from Daisy Troop 11619 and had them delivered while I was on the air. Great bit and cute girls equal happy parents. These seven-year old girls are so sweet and their leader was quite the character and very polite in making sure the girls didn’t touch any knobs or in studio buttons. Back to the cookies, they are classics and a must no matter what the price ($3.50 a box in Georgia). Samoa’s are my most dangerous cookie, man I could eat a whole box in one sitting, easy. Girl Scout thin mint cookies are a yearly staple and addiction if you will. Two station salespeople each purchased a box of thin mints when the girls arrived, both boxes were empty within minutes. This years new cookie is called Savannah Smiles ,they are lemon cookies dusted in a light powder. They are good but I prefer the Trefoils a classic shortbread I’ve devoured all my life. A previous Girl Scout myself, selling cookies was like a competitive sport for me. By the time my kids sold them they had taken to setting up tables in front of the grocery store. Sidebar: they sell generic thin mints in the cookie isle at about $1.29 a box but they don’t compare to the real deal. We had so many girls selling cookies in our neighborhood it wasn’t worth pitting neighbor against neighbor when deciding who they would buy their cookies from. Unless you were me and you bought a box from everyone. What can I say, I like to support a good organization.
