For the first time in sixteen years, my girlfriend Melissa was alone in her house for four days without her family. Her husband and oldest daughter were on a missions trip to Africa and her two other daughters were away at horse back riding camp. Melissa is a full-time middle school science teacher who works part-time in the summer with special needs however this week she was writing a curriculum lesson from home. The first day she had to herself she slept in then cleaned her house and worked. Her texts told me the silence if her house was odd. By day two she was a little lonely so she took her dog for a ride when she ran errands. Day three was dinner out with friends where she arrived fully put together, hair, make up accessories and a relaxed air about her. She said the dinner out was great arriving home to an empty house was not so great. Knowing that this time alone might not happen again for a very long time she plans to get a facial and read two books before her clan returns. Her dog is in full agreement and happy to be along for this ride.

She can get creative with her frequent flier miles and swap enough to make a flight possible for herself or someone else. A small fee may apply but it's still cheaper than a roundtrip ticket. Here are the sites that can help:
www.points.com: trade mile per mile with another consumer.
www.Loyaltymatch.com: trade miles to get flights or products.
She can sell her photos for some supplemental income, and here are the sites to sell them at:
www.Zymmetrical.com: name your price and receive 70 percent when it sells.
www.Crestock.com: receive 20 percent of the first 100 sold.
www.BigStockPhoto.com: earn up to $3 per picture sold.
www.phototrade.com: earns 80 percent of the marked-up price.
