It's a sure sign that fall is here when pumpkin muffins and cinnamon lattes start appearing on the Starbucks specials board. This is a prime time for coffee orders to change as well, as I find myself switching from an iced Venti to a regular drip "with room" for milk. Fall flavors are found in the freezer section of her supermarket with root vegetables dominating many a Lean Cusine meal, and extending down to the ice cream shop that offers pomegranate seed toppings. Squash, corn, apples, pecans and sweet potatoes rule right now, and will stick around as the in-season staples for quite sometime.

It is so difficult traveling on a plane with small children. Once she gets past the glares of other passengers hoping her precious bundle won't scream the entire flight, she settles into a small, cramped uncomfortable seat. The items necessary to keep a baby comfortable while traveling are numerous: a carry-on bag with toys, change of clothes, diapers, and food; plus a car seat, stroller, crib and high chair could also be needed when she arrives at her destination. And this isn't counting the stuff she needs for herself. She can eliminate some of the schlepping by renting some baby gear. For a fee, vacationers can rent all the essentials. Keep in mind that airlines charge an extra fee for over- weight luggage and for bringing more than two carry-on items, and renting items could be the cheaper way to go.
